Aging In Place – Home Modifications

Every home and every individual is unique. We conduct a thorough assessment of your needs and a risk assessment of your home, and will recommend the most practical solutions to help you age in place. Home modifications can range from minor renovations to major construction to address risk areas.

Common home modifications include:
  • Barrier-free shower or bathtub
  • Assistive devices where risks are high (eg: handrails, grab bars, etc)
  • No-skid grips on slippery floors
  • Entrance and hallways size changes to accommodate mobility
  • Kitchen renovations (safe appliances, lower/accessible surfaces and storage, etc.)
  • Elevators or stair lifts
  • Barrier-free access to laundry facilities, kitchen, washroom, etc.
  • Step-free accessibility to all areas of home
  • Easy to use fixtures and appliances (eg: taps, light switches, etc.)
